Sandwich Isles

Subway® Sandwich

Now that the preferred Subway® location in town is open daily with extended hours, takeout sandwiches are the only dinner choice. Of course, that’s subject to change when all of the discount promotions end. However, the foot-long sandwiches, ordered with extra vegetables, are an ideal meal for an old codger.

The weather has been somewhat cool for Spring with mostly overcast skies daily and light precipitation. The Mainstays® quartz heater has been deployed nightly because the mausoleum in the “old folks home” in Waikiki becomes quite cold. Well, it is a concrete tomb.

Being locked out of Notes was quite a scare, eh? Censorship is so rampant now that any site not “toeing the line” of the approved narrative is mummified. Look what happened to the Molech-themed Twitter® account. Well, that’s still a big mystery. Anyway, the Gab alternative will remain available in case of an outbreak of rampant Fascism.

Since dining out is temporarily discontinued, the return from town (with takeout sandwich) to the mausoleum is fairly early, usually around 4:30pm. There is no exit from the “old folks home” until the following morning. Needless to say, there’s a lot of anxiety as a result. All that time, and what is there to do? As can be imagined, the iPhone is the only source of diversion. Thus, reading and viewing videos (from the approved sources listed in Notes) are the only available activities. Pathetic.

Anyway, the time is ripe to rethink Notes. With zero readership, the effort is meaningless. And then, to be bothered by the possibility of its mummification, with zero readership … pointless!

Addendum: One of the first steps, given the meaninglessness of Notes, is to reduce the number of embedded video interviews. If there was actually someone reading Notes, that person would know exactly where to find those interviews (main links are provided with videos). So, unless there is really pressing new information, rarely any will be posted.

Miscellany: Is there a need to report on the face mask bullshit? Not really. Just know that face mask usage in Hawai’i has actually increased since the mandate was rescinded.

  1. Small correction: You have a readership of at least one, me, your loyal reader in Japan. I don’t watch the videos you link to, but I’ve been reading your blog since before the word “blog” was coined. If you continue posting, I shall continue reading.
