King Kamehameha Day is a holiday in Hawai’i, but there’s no rest for the weary. The routine is always the same … same ol’ shit, that is. So, details are not necessary.

The evening outings to the International Marketplace commenced last Thursday. The outings have been brief, about an hour in duration (from 6:30 to 7:30pm). The only activity, albeit benign, is to sit and exploit the excellent free wireless network, which really reduces the load on the iPhone battery. Downloading files, if necessary, is also extremely fast. The evening outing may or may not be daily.

The limited one-hour exposure to the Waikiki “environment” is obviously directly proportional to the tolerance for assholic tourists. No matter where these tourists originate from, they are all assholes. The latter is an axiom, not conjecture.

Well, at least the weather has finally transitioned to Summer conditions. The Spring season was essentially a disappointment. Of course, what is there to do (aside from shopping) even when the weather is nice?

Much time is still being expended on reading the sitreps and analyses of the Ukraine boondoggle on a couple of sites, the primary one being the Simplicius “blog” on Substack. The latter “blog” has been on the approved reading list since February, well before its current international notoriety.

One word of advice to people who are reading sitrep sites … avoid the reader comments. Too many of the comments are reminiscent of rabid sports fans, bloviating about their “team” as well as the moronic infighting. This is a damned war, initiated by the “Western” Fascists against the Russian Federation. The objective is to destroy Russia at the expense of Ukraine. The Fascists have never hidden the latter fact (refer to the document “Extending Russia” by Rand Corporation in the essential Fascist library).

And now, the Fascists have apparently miscalculated. Their little “table top” simulation was in serious error. So, the new plan is to escalate by brinkmanship to a thermonuclear conflagration. The aforementioned comments are made by people too stupid to realize the gravity of the situation. All that to say … read the sitreps for what they are. Avoid tribal (read: “team”) affiliations.

Tiny Tangerine

On a side note, one of the downtown gym staff donated a tiny tangerine to the miserly cause. Incidentally, bananas have become the permanent evening snack. Well, a muffin may also be thrown into the mix if available at the Waikiki Market.

Miscellany: The only on-line comments worth reading are the ones posted under select RT News articles. Just by perusing the headlines, the articles with the most entertaining comments can be easily ascertained.
