New year? Same as last year. What’s the difference? The same fearmongering over “super-duper corona” will now be extended to “mutant super-duper corona.” When the senile “president-elect” assumes office, the possibility of a full “lockdown” of empire is high.

Obviously, the masses of “deplorables” are being physically and psychologically worn down into total submission. Chronic insanity will rise disproportionately. All part of the plan ... the plan-demic, that is.

New Year’s Eve was uneventful in Hawai’i. What exactly is there to do when the entire island remains under “Tier 2” restrictions? Every venue closed early, so cold canned beans dinner sufficed for dinner again (refer to the Saturnalia post for details). All of the New Year’s Eve celebrations were mummified. Bar and nightclubs remain closed until “Tier 4,” whenever that might be.

Fortunately, the gym was open and will remain open during the holiday. Every day at the gym is being completely utilized because of the looming “lockdown” threat.

There are a quite a few tourists visiting now, so much so that Waikiki is fairly crowded. There’s no way to confirm the tourism trend because local news sources have ceased to provide any information. So, there’s no data on arrivals, quarantine, and quarantine violations. Still, with “Tier 2” restrictions, why would anyone of sound mind bother to come here?

New Year’s Day, of course, was a return to the banal “Tier 2” life-style. In other words, same ol’ shit. From a personal viewpoint, the “super-duper corona” plan-demic has exacted a toll on the psyche. To say that the mental state is fragile would be an understatement. Of course, that exactly defines the purpose of incarceration.

Incidentally, a couple tiny pumpkin pies were purchased from Walmart® for a snack.

Addendum: The timely homeless report has been postponed because of the difficulty in acquiring data. By direct observation, there has been a large increase in the homeless population. There has also been an increase in motorhomelessness. Because of “super-duper corona” travel restrictions, homeless migration from the mainland empire has ceased in the interim. Thus, the new homeless are all local residents.
