Optometry 2019

A visit to the Waikiki Health Center - Makahiki Clinic for an optometry appointment yielded more bad news ... symptoms of macular degeneration and cataracts are beginning to show. That’s way to early for someone who is not even 65 years old yet. Unfortunately, refuting the truth will not bring about a cure. Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) appears to be genetic because moms is most likely showing the same symptoms. However, moms is 97 years old and was only diagnosed about six months ago. AMD has no cure eventually leads to blindness (usually within ten years after onset).

A new prescription for old man spectacles was obtained. There is now very little enthusiasm to purchase anything nice. A cheap “piece of shit” will suffice. Heck, maybe old “piece of shit” collection of old man spectacles can continue service until death. Sheesh!

In any case, another optometry appointment has been made for six months from now in order to monitor both AMD and cataracts for worsening signs. Plans to transition to a homeless motorhome will have to be accelerated before blindness sets in.

Addendum: Upon perusing several articles about new findings concerning the use of “baby” aspirin as a preventative measure for heart disease, the prescription was immediately terminated. “Baby” aspirin is no longer recommended.
