The six-month follow-up medical appointment yielded disappointing results. Blood work was done about a week prior. The results indicate that pre-diabetes symptoms have worsened with fasting blood sugar now in the midrange (as opposed to low borderline a year ago). And, that's with the new modified diet in place during the interim.
Worst yet, a deliberate attempt was made to skew downward the fasting blood sugar by restricting the prior evening meal to a grilled chicken salad, a tiny chicken sandwich, and a handful of almonds for a snack (all low carbohydrates and no sugar). Unfortunately, the ploy was not successful.
Weight remains eight pounds lower than a year ago. Workouts at the gym have continued unabated. The new modified diet remains intact. So, there are no other variables to tweak. Either there is some kind of pancreatic malfunction or insulin immunity has taken hold. In any case, a projected time frame for the onslaught of Type 2 diabetes is nine months given the current rate of increase in blood sugar.
