Yesterday, dinner at Panda Express® on King Street was a true nightmare, primarily due to a conspicuously untrained new employee. There’s no sense in detailing the entire trying ordeal. The clincher, however, was when the new employee expressed cluelessness about how to use a knife to slice the Grilled Teriyaki Chicken. What the fuck? In addition, the queue was delayed for quite a while as a disgruntled customer “unloaded” on the cashier. Subsequently, dinner there will be limited to once per week, if even that. Yeah, “things fall apart.”
This afternoon, dinner was courtesy Subway® in town. The original plan was to return early to Waikiki and make a quick jaunt to Ala Moana Center. However, a stated previously in Notes, there is no bus schedule. Even the GPS tracking Web site is unreliable. Not to be repetitious, but “things fall apart.”
Seriously, this really is a bad time to be a senior citizen. The entirety of empire, the “West,” and the microcosmic speck called Hawai’i is on the verge of societal and economic collapse. Imagine being old and decrepit, yet having to navigate through such a dystopian nightmare. The only real solution for the geriatric crowd is voluntary euthanasia (read: assisted suicide).
The only real hope is the current Russian strategy to accelerate the disintegration of the collective “West” by attrition and patience (in Ukraine proxy war theater). Then, perhaps the masses of “Western” peons will finally rise up and lynch the Fascists. Life for everyone, even the dimwit Fascists, is short. Yet, the Fascists have made a lifelong career of mischief and mayhem. Thus, the masses cannot live out their paltry lives in peace.
The only good news is that the defective smoke detector in the other building in the “old folks home” has been mummified. So far, no details are forthcoming about whether a deceased tenant was discovered.
Addendum: Subway® has really bolstered its rewards program, so much so that dining there may be more frequent.
