Shithole Update

Another eviction notice was posted yesterday on the door of the shithole unit located in the shithole “old folks home” in Waikiki. The main allegation was delinquent payment of rent for the month of May. An extensive review of on-line bank statements revealed that all checks for rent payments were posted in a timely fashion.

The most recent episode now confirms suspicions that such notices are probably being sent to the decrepit residents of the “old folks home” in order to fraudulently extract more money from the more senile of the bunch. Or, in this case, there may be a fraudulent attempt to build a case to deny the return of the $876 security deposit upon vacating the shithole. No problem-o! $835 of the security deposit was provided by the Sand Island homeless shelter.

In any case, the decision to vacate the shithole upon expiry of the lease has been finalized. Yet, when does the lease actually end? No copy of the lease was ever delivered. According to the rent payment vouchers, the lease expires at the end of December. The eviction notice has the expiry set at the end of October. That’s the kind of shithole the dump is!

Update: A considerable amount of time and effort was expended to compile the check posting information from on-line bank statements, download copies of the checks, and dispatch the latter and former to an agent of property management. No apology or even an acknowledgment was forthcoming. No surprise, though, as the aforementioned suspicions are now validated.
